Between 2003 - 2010, the Asia Europe Journal was published by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) in co-operation with the German publisher Springer. ASEF worked closely with Guest Editors and Co-Editors from Asia and Eupore to support the preparation of each issue.

With the sale of the journal and the transfer of the copyright to Springer, a new editoral team was appointed in 2011:
